David was raised in Mission Viejo, California, with wonderful memories of the beach. He obtained a bachelor’s from California State University, Fullerton, and completed his Doctor in Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center. He attended a residency in the Air Force where he met his soulmate, Karina, also on HCC’s Board of Directors. He truly enjoyed the Air Force adventures to serve our country in extraordinary ways with most positions in command.
After 26 years of service, David retired and relishes opportunities to serve with church activities, discipling men, leading Bible studies, missionary work, community services, and serving HCC for 4 years. Additionally, David was honored to serve as Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Veterans Health Administration, Washington D.C. until January 2021.
His passion is to lead and encourage by meeting the needs of others and a lifetime journey to be the best husband and father of four children. “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”—2 Chronicles 16:9
